This page lists the hazard points we are aware of, each with a short description and a recommendation on how to ride it. We add further points as soon as they come to our attention; material changes will also be announced at race number collection and in the briefing.
The list is not exhaustive. It names the most conspicuous points. The fact that a location is not listed here does not mean it is free of hazards. Not every hazard point is signposted, secured or staffed with course marshals. This page does not replace your own attention. If possible, ride or inspect the course beforehand.
The course runs on public roads. We did not build them, we do not maintain them, and we do not monitor their condition continuously; responsibility for road maintenance lies with the respective public road authority. Conditions may change up to and on event day, for example due to weather, roadworks, agricultural and forestry traffic or soiling. Expect, along the entire course and also at unmarked locations, potholes, cracks, broken pavement, ruts, edge drops, loose gravel, manhole and drain covers, bumps, road markings, leaves, wet patches and dirt. Expect pedestrians, other cyclists and animals as well (free-roaming livestock, e.g. Windische Höhe, Farchtensee).
Adapt your riding, speed and distance to these conditions at all times and adjust your speed to the circumstances (Section 20(1) Austrian Road Traffic Act, StVO). You may not rely on finding an undamaged road surface throughout.
Villach – neutralised start phase
The event starts with a neutralised phase through the city of Villach. Ride with anticipation, position yourself appropriately within the field and pay attention to other participants.
The race director’s car must not be overtaken!
Race management officially releases the event.

For the duration of the field’s passage, a rail replacement service will be in operation. Should the barriers nevertheless be closed, stop and follow the instructions of the marshals – for details see the Rules & Regulations.

Farchtensee plateau
CAUTION poor road surface with potholes and cracks. Ride with anticipation and adjust your speed.
CAUTION bump in the road!
There is a bump in the road on the course; signage and marshals indicate it. Adjust your speed accordingly and be ready to brake.

Watch out for the signage and adjust your speed.

Villach
Course split Carinthia105 or finish approach and Carinthia200
Keep left for the Carinthia105 course or the finish approach, and right for the turn-off onto the Carinthia200 course. The course split is announced by signage. The turn-off is located immediately before the Drau bridge, after passing through the tunnel.
