Carinthia200 Premiere: Two Distances, One Motto – It’s My Ride

August 18, 2026

On September 20, 2026, Carinthia200 will celebrate its premiere – and today we want to clarify a question we’ve received frequently over the past few weeks: Will there be a middle-distance option?

The answer is: for the first edition, Carinthia200 will feature two distances – 200 km and 105 km. There will be no middle-distance route this year.

This decision was made together with everyone involved in the event. Carinthia200 is a brand-new cycling event held on fully closed roads – a format that hasn’t taken place on this scale for many years. The demands on organisation, route safety and event operations are considerable. That’s why, for this first edition, our full focus is on ensuring the safety of all participants across both distances. For the premiere, we want to get this exactly right together: two perfectly organised routes rather than making compromises.

The good news for everyone hoping for a middle-distance option: with the experience and learnings from the first edition, we can work towards introducing a middle distance for 2027.

And even with two distances, our motto remains the same: It’s My Ride. You decide which distance you want to ride. Your entry is valid for both the 200 km and the 105 km route, so there’s no need to change your registration. Whether you take on the full 200-kilometre challenge or choose the 105 kilometres as your personal challenge is entirely up to you – depending on your fitness, training and how you feel on the day.

There’s another update: contrary to our initial plans, the 105 km distance will also have an official results list. This means both distances will be full-fledged events, with timing and official results – plus the unique experience of cycling through Carinthia on fully closed roads.

We look forward to welcoming you to Villach on September 20!
