Carinthia200 took place for the first time this year – and showed from the very start the potential this event holds. The feedback from our participants deeply moved us, as did the commitment shown by the population along the route.
We were especially surprised by the response to the “Hotspot of the Year” vote: more than 60 percent of all finishers cast a vote – a remarkable result for an event that has only existed in this form once before. For us, that’s a clear signal: the population along the route gave our participants an experience unlike anything they know from any other event. Now it’s official which hotspots have earned the 2026 title.
On both routes, you voted on which hotspot along the course swept you up the most. As a thank-you, the winning hotspots receive a supply of Villacher Bier – sponsored by Villacher Bier, which has supported the region for generations.
| Rank | Hotspot |

Congratulations to all the hotspots named above – you’ve earned this title!
To keep the vote fair for all participants, one simple principle applies: each hotspot can only be scored once per route.
The background: Carinthia200 has fewer participants than Carinthia105, and part of the Carinthia105 route is ridden twice, meaning hotspots along that section are passed twice. Without accounting for these factors, hotspots on these doubly-ridden sections would have had an unfair advantage – both through more rider sightings and through the higher number of participants on the 105 route.
That’s why hotspots already counted in the Carinthia105 scoring were not counted again in the Carinthia200 scoring. This way, every hotspot on both routes has the same fair chance of placing in the top ranks – regardless of how often it’s passed or how many participants ride by.
Carinthia200 lives through the people along the route, and you proved that impressively again in 2026. Whether it was mayors and their deputies who pitched in themselves, fire brigades who kept things safe and the atmosphere alive, or the local clubs, youth associations and sports clubs who turned entire villages into miles of cheering crowds with flags, music and heart: your commitment is the foundation of this event.
On behalf of the Villach – Faaker See – Ossiacher See region and the entire Carinthia200 organization, we want to thank every municipality, club and volunteer from the bottom of our hearts. You are the reason Carinthia200 feels like a celebration for our participants and why we’re already looking forward to 2027.
